Tuscon, AZ-- After a day off, the Pioneers returned to the diamond against Concordia St. Paul. The game turned into a high-scoring slugfest, a rarity in baseball. However, despite the Pioneers' efforts, the Golden Bears managed to secure a hard-fought victory with a final score of 18-13.

The Game
The game started with a flurry of runs from Concordia-St. Paul in the first inning. The Golden Bears came out swinging, with their hitters on fire right from the start. They smashed a grand slam and added two more runs, quickly securing an early 6-0 lead.
Malone responded in the second inning, with
Eric Baum's groundout bringing in a run and
Charlie Roberts single adding two more, narrowing the gap. Roberts later scored that inning on an error and the deficit was just 6-4. The offensive surge continued in the third inning, with
Zach Flohr's home run and
Allen Diaz's single tying the game at 6-6.
However, Concordia-St. Paul regained the lead in the fourth inning with Noah Juliar's two-run homer, making it 8-6. The Pioneers quickly answered back in the same inning, with
Jake Aleman's triple driving in two runs and
Clayton Criss's sacrifice giving the Pioneers their first lead of the at 9-8.
In both the fifth and seventh innings, the Golden Bear offense continued its dominance, scoring five runs between the two to take back control. Meanwhile, the pitching held strong, preventing any additional runs from the opposing team.
There was another punch thrown by Malone in the seventh inning, with
Anthony Ryan's single bringing in a run and
JC Philippi's groundout cutting the deficit to 13-11.
Eric Baum's bomb in the eighth inning brought his team within one run, trailing 13-12.
In the end, the Golden Bears' potent offense outshined Malone's, clinching an 18-13 victory.
