Canton, OH-- On Tuesday afternoon the Malone University Women's Lacrosse team hosted the University of Charleston Golden Eagles.
The Golden Eagles won the hard fought contest by a score of 17-5.

THE GAME
Charleston set the tone early as they rattled off two quick goals to establish a 2-0 lead.
Maria Fusillo fired back as she fired home a free position attempt to cut the deficit in half. Charleston countered with three more goals to take a 5-1 lead after one. The Golden Eagles began the second by scoring another trio of goals to stretch their lead out to seven.
Abbey Burns scored on a feed from Fusillo to give Malone their second goal. The Lady Pioneers headed into the half facing a 10-2 deficit.
The Golden Eagles came out of the half with their foot on the gas as they quickly found themselves up 14-2. Fusillo scored her second of the contest to end the Golden Eagle scoring run. In a contested fourth quarter, a pair of Golden Eagle goals were countered by Burns and Fusillo. When it was all said and done, Charleston led 17-5 as the final horn sounded.
