Canton, OH-- On Sunday, Malone University's baseball team aimed to level the series against Kentucky Wesleyan. Despite the Panthers securing victories in the initial two games on Saturday, they replicated their success, sweeping the four-game series.

Game One
Kentucky Wesleyan took an early lead by scoring a run in the top of the first inning. However, in the second inning, the Pioneers responded as
Jordan Stevens scored on an error, tying the game at 1-1.
Malone grabbed their first lead of the game in the next inning when
Anthony Ryan singled to center, bringing
Devin Brown home. Despite
Jacob Rollyson's efforts to maintain Malone's lead on the mound, the Panthers swiftly answered back.
JC Philippi's clutch sacrifice fly in the sixth inning nudged the Pioneers back ahead with a narrow 3-2 lead heading into the seventh. Malone seemed poised for their first conference win, but Kentucky Wesleyan had other plans. In the top of the seventh, the Panthers mounted a powerful offensive surge, scoring three runs to clinch the game with a final score of 5-3.
Game Two
In a back-and-forth battle in game two, the game kicked off with Kentucky Wesleyan taking an early lead in the first inning, but Malone quickly bounced back in the third with a crucial RBI triple by
JC Philippi, tying the score at 1-1.
The fourth inning saw Malone surge ahead with a series of well-executed plays, including an RBI groundout by
Allen Diaz, a triple by
Charlie Roberts bringing in another run, and a sacrifice fly by
Devin Brown, propelling Malone to a 4-1 lead.
However, Kentucky Wesleyan mounted a fierce comeback in the sixth inning, fueled by Hunter Hyden's two-RBI triple, leveling the score at 4-4. In the sixth inning, the Panthers surged ahead, scoring two runs to claim a 6-4 lead, and they didn't stop there. Their offensive onslaught continued in the top of the eighth, adding five more runs to extend their lead. Despite Malone's efforts, the deficit proved insurmountable, resulting in an 11-4 loss for the Pioneers.
