Canton, OH-- On Tuesday, the Malone University baseball team faced off against cross town rival Walsh in a highly anticipated single nine-inning game. However, things didn't quite go as planned for Malone as Walsh capitalized on a few opportunities, particularly in the second inning, where they unleashed a barrage of six runs and won the game 6-1.

The Game
The game's turning point came early in the second inning when Walsh surged ahead with an impressive offensive display. The Cavaliers pushed six runs across the plate to take an early 6-0 lead.
Despite facing a daunting deficit, Malone displayed fought back. In the third inning,
Anthony Ryan's single to center field provided a glimmer of hope for Malone, driving in
Gavin Shrum and putting them on the scoreboard.
The Pioneers turned to relief pitcher
Michael Paljich, and he delivered an outstanding performance, allowing no earned runs in 6.1 innings while striking out six batters and only conceding eight hits. Paljich's stellar pitching performance kept Malone in contention, yet despite his efforts, the offense struggled to gain momentum. In the end Malone fell 6-1.
