THE GAME
Malone looked to set the tone early as Emma Weintz scored a free position goal just one minute into the contest. The Australian sensation Abbey Burns followed suit as she ripped off three unanswered goals to put the Pioneers up 4-0 early. While the Crusaders were able to counter with a goal of their own, Malone was just getting started. Olivia Marcantonio took a feed from Burns and fire home her first goal of the game. Weintz came in with her second to leave Malone up 6-1 through one.

Things cooled off in the second quarter as defensive play took control. Sommer-Jo Grieser made a pair of electric saves and the Pioneers forced eight turnovers in the quarter. The Pioneers woke up offensively near the end of the half as Burns scored twice more to leave the score 8-1 at the half.

Jorjia Meza opened up the second half with her third goal of the season. The Pioneers did everything put take their foot off the gas as Burns scored yet again. Weintz scored her third and fourth of the game which were sandwiched by an Olivia Marcantonio goal, stretching the lead to twelve at the end of the third.

Burns opened the fourth quarter with yet another goal, her seventh and final goal on the afternoon. Maria Fusillo scored her first goal of the season but the Crusaders answered back to end the scoring drought. Marcantonio scored again but the Madonna answered yet again. Fusillo closed out the game with her second goal, giving the Pioneers a 17-3 victory.
