CANTON, Ohio – The Malone University women's soccer team celebrated the Class of 2025 before their contest with the Northwood University Timberwolves. The senior class is comprised of
Ava Ciampa,
Alaina Davis,
Bridget Harris,
Reagan McCourt,
Anna Puentespina,
Morgan Ross and
Madison Woodward. The Pioneers were upended by the visitors via a 1-0 final score.
The Timberwolves dominated on both ends of the ball in the first half as they out shot the Pioneers 11-0. Northwood was able to find the back of the net with one of those shots as they took an early 1-0 lead in the 19th minute. This proved to be all of the offense they would need. Ciampa got the start for Malone and saved the only shot she faced in the contest.
Amelia Henderhan replaced her in the 11th minute and finished the day with eight saves.
The Pioneers battled in the second half but remained unable to find the goal as they finished the day with no shots on goal. The Timberwolves ultimately out shot the Pioneers by a mark of 21-2.
Puentsepina and Woodward played the full ninety for Malone, who drop to 8-6-1 on the year and 6-6-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) action. Northwood improved their record to 10-0-5 and 8-0-3 in conference play.
Malone will travel to Ashland, Ohio as they take on the Ashland University Eagles on Saturday, November 2nd at 6:30 P.M.
