CANTON, Ohio – The Malone University men's soccer team welcomed the Northwood University Timberwolves to King Field on Saturday for another Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) contest. Despite both teams best efforts, the contest ultimately ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Pioneers opened the first half with an offensive onslaught as they fired off shot after shot. Each shot, however, missed its mark and the stout Timberwolf defense kept the score sheet clean. Defensively, Malone held Northwood to just three shots and
Griffin Owen (1-2-1) secured a pair of saves.
It was much of the same in the second half as neither team seemed to make any headway. Ultimately, the match ended with both sides knotted up at zero.
Owen,
Elijah Caparello-Wanless,
Anthony Birus played the full ninety for the Pioneers.
Malone now sits at 4-7-3 overall and 1-7-3 in the G-MAC. The Timberwolves moved to 3-9-2 and 3-7-1 in conference play.
Up next, the men's soccer team makes the trip to the Ashland, Ohio where they will take on Ashland University on Tuesday, October 29th at 6:30 P.M.
