CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Malone University women's soccer team (5-4-1, 3-4-0 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC)) came up short on Thursday night at Cedarville University (6-4-2, 5-2-1 G-MAC) by a score of 3-1.
The Pioneers were outshot in the match 16-7, with 10 of those looks for the Yellow Jackets on-target. Cedarville took all six recorded corner kicks in the match, however sophomore
Amelia Henderhan (5-4-1) made five saves to the opponent's one.
The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the 29th minute with a goal near post and that score would remain as the only tally of the first half.
Senior
Morgan Ross evened the match at one with a breakaway goal in the 61st minute. Cedarville would immediately answer with another goal to put themselves back on top 2-1 on a crossing pass.
The Yellow Jacket defense was effective in limiting attempts, however junior
Camryn Emerling got an attempt off in the 85th minute of play, but off-target. Cedarville added an insurance goal in the 88th minute to net the 3-1 final.

Gabrielle McCourt recorded three of the team's seven shot attempts (one on-goal). Henderhan, senior

Abby Blaz played all 90 minutes.
