Crestview Hills, KY-- On Thursday, (Jan 18) the Malone men's basketball team fell on the road to Thomas More 68-57 in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference matchup.
The Pioneers drop to (9-8,2-7 G-MAC), and the Saints improve to (11-7,6-4 G-MAC).
Malone was locked in a tight one to start the game as both teams were trading buckets.
Simon Blair was red hot scoring 13 points in the first six minutes to help keep the Pioneers in the game.
Malone took a brief lead at 17-15 after a Juke Burns layup, but that's when Thomas Moore went on an 8-0 run to give them a cushioning lead. The Pioneers showed some grit battling back and only trailing 30-28 at halftime.
.Malone cut the lead to just three at the start of the second half and things still looked promising. That all changed as the Saints held
Simon Blair to just four second half points, while only allowing just two Pioneers to score in double figures. They controlled the tempo throughout the rest of the game and went on to win 68-57
