NORTH CANTON, Ohio. — On Saturday, September 30 the Malone University volleyball team traveled ten minutes north to take on rival Walsh.
The Cavaliers came into the Contest 12-0 and Malone gave them all they could handle.

Highlights
Set One
The game was highly contested from the start. Malone battled and after a kill from
Gabby Rodriguez the Pioneers took a 11-8 lead. The Cavaliers were on upset alert.
Walsh responded in a big way answering the call. The Cavaliers fought back to take the lead and never looked back. They took set one by a final score of 25-18
Set Two
In the second set Malone once again showed some grit. Walsh took an early 5-2 lead, but the Pioneers found a way to claw back and eventually take an early 7-6 lead.
Walsh responded by taking back the lead and looked like they were in the clear. Malone had other plans as they stormed back to tie up the game at 15-15. That's when Walsh went on a run to put the game away for good taking set two.
Set Three
This set was the most exciting one of the night. Both teams fought back and fourth throughout the game as it was up for grabs. In the end the cavaliers completed the sweep by taking set three 25-23!
Details
Grace Rosko led the Pioneers with 6 kills. Gabby Smith and Anika Nichols each added 5.
Mallory Meinen added 11 assists for Malone
Macy McCauley and
Gabby Rodriguez had 8 digs each.
What's Next
Malone Will be back in action for another G-MAC road contest at Lake Erie on Tuesday. The game is slated for a 6:00 pm start time.
