THE GAME
Ramsey Burnard lit up the scoreboard first with his goal less than two minutes into the game.Â
Unfortunately Quincy scored the next four goals of the game unanswered.Â
The Pioneers responded with back-to-back scores from Burnard and
Talon Heath.
Both teams then traded a goal inside of the last minute of the opening quarter to make it 5-4 in favor of Quincy after the first fifteen minutes of play.Â
The goals were evenly matched 2-2 in the second quarter. Heath and
Kenny Kaiser found the back of the net for Malone, but it was still 7-6 in favor of the Hawks at halftime.Â
The third quarter proved to be part of the difference in the final outcome as Quincy outscored Malone 7-4 in the quarter to stretch their lead out to 14-10.Â
The Hawks then scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter to end any hopes of a Pioneer comeback.Â
Zac Smargiasso netted his fourth goal of the game midway through the fourth, but Malone was unable to overcome the deficit as Quincy held on for the 17-11 win.
