CANTON, Ohio. — The Malone University women's basketball team (4-3, 1-0 G-MAC) was victorious over Lake Erie College (1-3, 0-2 G-MAC) on Saturday afternoon, December 2, winning 84-49 in Osborne Hall.
The Pioneers were put to their first conference test of the season and passed with flying colors by dominating the Storm at home. The hosts started the game hot and with good intensity. After the first quarter, the Pioneers held a 25-14 lead. They continued their dominance in the second quarter and led 46-21 at the break. All 10 players dressed for the game were involved in the scoring for the Pioneers. Head Coach
Selana Reale and her team will look to use the big victory over Lake Erie to build momentum as they go into the remainder of their conference schedule.
Inside the Box Score
Aila Miller led the way for the Pioneers with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Brooklyn Troyer chipped in with 13 points, four steals, and three rebounds.
Erin Kaufman and
Annabel Rodriguez each had 11 points. Kaufman added five rebounds.
Kayla Curry-Brown had nine points on the afternoon.
Brinn Hunt added six points, six rebounds, and six assists.
What's Next
The Pioneers are back in action on Thursday, December 7 as they travel to Crestview Hills, Kentucky for a 6:00 p.m. tilt with Thomas More University.
