The Game

From the opening tip-off, it was evident that the game would be a closely fought battle. Malone, entering the matchup with an undefeated 3-0 record, faced a resilient Central State squad hungry for their first win of the season at 0-3.

Malone started off the game strong when Tahleik Walker knocked down a three to give the Pioneers an early lead. The first half was controlled by the Pioneers and Carter Piatt lead the charge.

He scored 13 first-half points and Malone led 40-31 at the half. However, Central State, led by the dynamic Willie Jackson, fought back with determination.

Jackson's stellar performance, recording 26 points and three three-pointers, kept Central State in contention throughout the game. Zavian Jackson and Steven Key II provided valuable support, contributing a combined 19 points to Central State's effort.

The Marauders outscored Malone 42-40 in the second half, but the big enough first half lead for the Pioneers helped them hold on for the 80-73 win!
