CANTON, Ohio. — The Malone University women's basketball team (1-1, 0-0 G-MAC) fell to Wayne State University (GLIAC) by a score of 73-62 on Saturday afternoon, November 11 in Osborne Hall.
Coming off their win in the season opener with the University of Indianapolis, the Pioneers faced off with a tough opponent in Wayne State. The hosts led 18-16 after one quarter of play and the Pioneers still led 26-24 at the break. However, the Warriors had a huge third quarter where they outscored the Pioneers 23-12 to claim the lead. They did not look back and saw out an 11-point victory on the road.
Malone shot 36.5% (19-52) from the field and 42.1% (8-19) from three-point range while Wayne State shot 45.8% on field goals (27-59) and 30.4% from threes (7-23). The Pioneers had 34 rebounds to the Warriors' 28. However, the hosts had 22 turnovers compared to Wayne State's 12.

Brooklyn Troyer led the way for the Pioneers as she scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds
Kyli Horn added 13 points, four rebounds, and two steals.
Erin Kaufman had eight points and eight boards.
Aila Miller added five points, six rebounds, and two assists.
Nataley Armstrong had six assists and four rebounds.
What's Next
The Pioneers will travel to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown on Wednesday, November 15. Tip-off is to be determined.
