CANTON, Ohio. — The Malone University women's basketball team (1-0, 0-0 G-MAC) opened its season with a 74-61 win over the University of Indianapolis (0-1, 0-0 GLVC) on Friday afternoon, November 10 in Osborne Hall.

An overall entertaining game to begin the season, the opener featured 11 lead changes and lots of action. The Pioneers trailed 16-15 after the first quarter of action but turned things around as they outscored the Greyhounds in the final three quarters. Malone shot 40.0% (24-60) from the field as Indianapolis shot 39.7% (25-63). The Pioneers were 5-of-19 from three-point range and were helped with 34 points off the bench. Malone out-rebounded their opponents 38-31 on the day.

Inside the Box Score

Aila Miller shined in her first game for the Pioneers since transferring in from Akron, leading the way with 20 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Erin Kaufman added 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

Kyli Horn totaled 10 points and three rebounds.

Anna Krupa had 10 points and two assists on the day.

Nataley Armstrong added four points and four assists in 32 minutes of action.

The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, November 11 as they host Wayne State University at 4:00 p.m. in Osborne Hall.
