Canton, OH-- On Thursday, Malone Women's Soccer faced off against Kentucky Wesleyan, and what unfolded would become a historic moment for the Panthers.
Kentucky Wesleyan, picked up their first win of the season by a final of 2-1 over Malone.

The Game
The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams putting up a fight on the field. The scoring action began in the 29th minute when Kentucky Wesleyan's Haley Osborne found the back of the net, giving her team an early lead.
Malone, however, was determined to make their mark on the game and equalized in the 72nd minute.
Gracie Ashton, with her third goal of the season, brilliantly capitalized on an assist from
Cayde Koballa, leveling the score at 1-1.
As the clock ticked down and tension mounted, it was Kentucky Wesleyan's Bree Owen who became the hero of the day for her team. In the 88th minute, she seized the opportunity and netted a goal, securing a 2-1 victory for the Panthers. Haley Osborne once again played a pivotal role, this time as the provider of the crucial assist.
The match saw a fair share of challenges and physicality, with both teams battling hard for control of the game. The final statistics reflected the intensity of the competition, with Kentucky Wesleyan outshooting Malone 15 to 8. Despite the offensive efforts, both goalkeepers displayed exceptional skills, each making five saves to keep their respective teams in the game.
