CANTON, Ohio. — The Malone University volleyball team (4-21, 2-11 G-MAC) came from two sets down to claim a 3-2 victory over Lake Erie College (4-21, 3-11 G-MAC) on Friday evening, October 27 in Osborne Hall.
Prior to the match, senior night festivities were held to honor the two Pioneer seniors,
Molly Bullion and
Audra Kocher. With the stands filled with students and fans, the Pioneers honored their senior leaders in a huge way on Friday evening. After the visitors from Lake Erie College took the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-18, it looked like senior night may have been spoiled for Bullion and Kocher. However, the hosts rallied to take the next two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-20 to force a fifth set. In the final set, the Pioneers came from behind to clinch the win with a 15-11 win.
Inside the Box Score
Grace Rosko led the way offensively for the Pioneers as she had 12 kills. She added five digs on the night.
Gabi Smith,
Annika Nichols, and
Brianne Salinas each contributed with 10 kills.
Jaymes Gilbert had a strong night, picking up seven kills and five total blocks in the victory.
Macy McCauley had 24 digs and led the Pioneers defensively.
Seniors
Molly Bullion (21) and
Audra Kocher (18) combined for 39 assists to help their team to victory.
What's Next
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, October 27 as they host Ursuline College. First serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
