The Game
Despite being the underdogs in this matchup, Malone battled till the very end. The Pioneers felt like they had a chance holding the Yellow Jackets scoreless heading into Halftime.
Malone's defense deserves recognition for their unwavering commitment to keeping Cedarville at bay. They held a formidable Yellow Jacket offense, which had been scoring consistently throughout the season, to just two goals. This was no small feat, considering Cedarville's strong attacking lineup.
In the 89th minute,
Gracie Ashton's late goal provided a glimmer of hope for the Pioneers, showcasing the team's determination and to not give up. This goal served as a testament to the fact that Malone was willing to fight until the final whistle, no matter the odds.
Despite being out shot by their opponents, Malone's goalkeeper
Amelia Henderhan made some crucial saves to give the Pioneers a chance in the end.
