Williams Tied for Third Overall After Opening Round at the NCAA DII East Regional

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Golf East Regional got underway on Monday afternoon at Shoal Creek Golf Course. 

Malone University graduate student Christina Williams fired an opening round 73 (+2), and currently sits tied for third-place on the overall leaderboard. 

Williams teed off on hole number 10, and carded a 36 on the back nine. After a bogey on hole 15 she came back with a birdie on 16 to get back to +1. 

In her second set of nine holes Williams gave another stroke back with a bogey on hole four, however she finished the final five holes even par to get into the clubhouse at +2 and tied for third overall. 

Williams is scheduled to go off in the first grouping tomorrow morning for round two. Her tee time is set for 9:30 a.m. ET.
