CANTON -- The final week of the 2021-22 regular season is underway, and the Malone University Pioneers have three home games left.
First up, a crucial Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) rematch with the University of Findlay Oilers.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 58th meeting all-time on the hardwood between these two schools. The Oilers have dominated the overall series 40-17.
Findlay won the earlier matchup this year, played just nine days ago, by a final score of 96-72. The Oilers closed out the first-half strong to carry a six-point advantage into the break. UF controlled the second-half as well, as they won going away by a final score of 96-72.
Despite struggling with Findlay historically, Malone won the last meeting played inside Osborne Hall back in February of 2021.

Bryce Butler helped fuel the 89-83 Senior Day win for the Pioneers.

- Malone had their historic home winning streak snapped in an 81-71 loss to Ashland University on Saturday. The Eagles opened up a double-digit lead midway through the first half, and kept the Pioneers at bay down the stretch to pick up the 81-71 win.
- Last week's action provided a bit of a shakeup to the G-MAC Standings. The Pioneers currently stand in fourth-place, but just .5 games behind Hillsdale College and Ashland University for second.
- Bryce Butler continued his high-level of play last week. He scored a season-high 32 points in the win at Tiffin on Thursday, and followed that up with 20 points against Ashland. He continues to be Malone's leading scorer at 17.8 points per game. That number is third-best in the league.
- Against Ashland on Saturday, Marcus Ernst notched his sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 17 rebounds. The 17 boards tie a career-high. He also had three blocks on the defensive end of the floor, pushing him over 100 career blocks. He is now the only player in the history of Malone men's basketball to score at least 1,000 career points, pull down at least 1,000 career rebounds, and record at least 100 blocks.
- In the earlier meeting with Findlay this year, Bo Myers scored a game-high 21 points. He was 5-10 from beyond the three-point line. He enters tomorrow night's game as the fifth-leading scorer in the conference averaging 16.7 points per game.

- Findlay is coming off of a 93-67 win over Lake Erie on Thursday. Prior to that win, the Oilers dropped a double overtime game at home to Walsh on Tuesday night.
- In the Oilers win over the Pioneers earlier this month, junior Nathan Burns led their offense with 17 points. He currently sits eighth in the G-MAC in scoring averaging 14.8 points per game. He is also the fourth-leading rebounder in the conference (7.7 rpg).
- Junior Joey Edmonds has the third-best assist/turnover ratio in the G-MAC at 2.6. He has 74 assists to just 28 turnovers this season.
- Findlay, who was picked to finish third in the conference in the preseason coaches poll, is under the direction of head coach Charlie Ernst who is in his eleventh season leading the Oilers.
