CANTON -- Monday night the Malone University men's basketball team will play their first game in the 2022 calendar year.

The Pioneers are looking for their fifteenth consecutive win overall inside Osborne Hall when they host Tiffin University in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 93rd meeting all-time between Malone University and Tiffin University on the basketball court. The Pioneers, who have won the last four meetings in a row, hold a commanding 67-25 lead in the overall series.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT MALONE UNIVERSITY

• The Pioneers had a nine-game losing streak snapped in their last time out. Malone suffered their first G-MAC defeat of the season with a 61-58 loss on the road at Ashland University on Wednesday.
• The 58 points scored were a season-low for Malone's offense. The Pioneers shot just 32.3% from the field, also a season-low. Despite that, Malone is still the league's top offense. The Pioneers average 84.4 points per game (Tiffin University is second at 79.2 points per game). 
• Since rejoining Malone's lineup after the opening weekend, Bryce Butler has yet score less than 15 points in a single game. He currently leads the Pioneers at 16.9 points per game. That number is fourth-best in the G-MAC. 
• Justin Miller and Bo Myers are not far off from Butler's mark. Both players are averaging 16.3 points per game.
• Marcus Ernst, who has pulled down 13 rebounds in back-to-back contests, is third in the G-MAC averaging 8.4 boards per game.

• The Dragons have not played a game since December 18, 2021. That was a 74-72 win over Eckerd College in Tampa, Florida.
• Tiffin is 1-2 in G-MAC games. Their lone conference victory came against Ohio Dominican University, while they suffered losses against Lake Erie College and Cedarville University.
• Tiffin's high-scoring offense is led by Tanner Johnson with 13.0 points per game. Morgan Taylor (12.1) and Trent Williams (10.1) are also scoring in double-digits.
• The Dragons, who were picked to finish eleventh in the conference in the preseason coaches poll, are led by fourth-year head coach Tom Church. Last year Tiffin finished 5-14 overall.
