ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- Wednesday the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) announced their 2021 NCAA Division II All-Midwest Region teams, as voted on by the region's sports information directors. 

For Malone, senior pitcher Clay Cooper was named First Team All-Midwest Region. This is his second all-region award this year. Earlier this week he was named a First Team All-Midwest Region selection by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA). 

The 2021 season saw Cooper post a 2.75 ERA in 59.0 innings pitched en route to being named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year. He was also a First Team All-G-MAC selection. 

Cooper finished the year with 74 strikeouts. He struck out at least four batters in every single start that he made. He also totaled double-digit strikeouts in his longest outing of the season when he sat down 10 Fighting Scot batters in a win at Ohio Valley late in the regular season.
