Tiffin, Ohio -- The Malone University track & field team traveled to Tiffin University for the Tiffin Reggie Thomas Classic this weekend.
Only the field athletes and sprinters competed at this meet. It was a great opportunity for these athletes to compete for more during this limited outdoor season.
Men's Highlights
Kabanu Witherspoon was the first Pioneer to place in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 20th place, overall, with a time of 23.35. Daniel Ogbonna finished in 37th place.Â
In the long jump, Collin McClure earned a seventh-place finish with a distance of 6.49 meters.Â
In the discus throwing event, two Pioneers placed in the top-20 range. First was Chris Beemiller, who threw 40.61 meters (14th place). Next was Owen Zeiter, throwing a best-throw of 39.72 meters (16th place). In the shotput event, these two Pioneers also placed in the top 20. Beemiller continued to place 13th with a throw of 14.22 meters. Zeiter threw 13.96 meters for a 16th-place finish.
Women's Highlights
Rebekah Carr finished the 400-meter run in fourth place with a time of 58.25. Close behind her was Azure Curtis, who finished in 1:00.75 seconds (8th). In the 200-meter dash, Carr also finished in 7th place with a time of 26.25. Curtis placed in 12th overall (26.90 seconds).Â
In the discus event, Savannah Line was the first of the Pioneer women to finish the event, coming in 25th place (32.63m). Who followed were Carmen Krichbaum (33rd place) and Taylor Walls (37th place).Â
In the shot put event, the Pioneers who finished were Natalie Crum (22nd, 9.85m), Taylor Walls (23rd, 9.31m), and Trinity Hobbs (25th, 8.71m).Â

The men and women will prepare for the Hillsdale Gina Relays, hosted by Hillsdale University, on the 22nd-24th of April.
