CANTON, Ohio -- The Malone University women's soccer team continues their long stretch of home matches by hosting rival Walsh University in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play this afternoon.

MALONE-WALSH SOCCER SERIES
This afternoon's match will be the 29th meeting all-time between these two programs. Currently the Cavaliers hold a 19-6-3 advantage in the series.
The two squads played to a 0-0 double overtime draw in September of 2018. The last Pioneer win in the series came in October of 2015, a 1-0 win at home to close out the regular season.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
Spectators and fans of both the Pioneers and the visiting teams are both welcome and encouraged to attend. Malone University is required to abide by North Canton Hoover High School's COVID-19 protocols.
All spectators are required to wear a mask, only sit with members of their groups and families, and remain socially distant from other groups and families.
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE PIONEERS
- In Thursday's 2-1 win over Lake Erie Natalie Martorana scored the first goal of her collegiate career. In the 49th minute she took a pass from Amanda Kinsey and beat the Storm keeper for the first goal of the match.

Jessica Morgan made her return to the starting lineup on Thursday. She played the entire match in goal, and made a pair of saves. Both of those came inside the final 20 minutes of play to help preserve the 2-1 victory.

Malone's offense currently leads the entire G-MAC with five goals scored this season. Madeline Ault is tied for the conference lead with two goals.
- The Pioneers continue to be efficient and accurate with their offensive opportunities. 27 of Malone's 41 total shots have been on goal.

Keeley Malley's penalty kick goal on Thursday, which proved to be the game-winning goal, is the only PK scored across the conference so far this season.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
Walsh enters today's match off of a 1-0 win over Cedarville last weekend to open the season. The Cavaliers got a late goal by Kayla Rance in the 83rd minute to help secure the victory.
In the Great Midwest Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour Walsh was tied with the University of Findlay as the preseason favorite.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Pioneers are in the portion of the schedule that includes five consecutive home matches. Malone will host Trevecca Nazarene University on Thursday night. The match will be played at GlenOak High School.
