CANTON, Ohio – The Malone University men's basketball team is looking for their seventh straight Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) victory and 14th win in their last 16 games when they host Ohio Dominican for the final game of the 2020-21 regular season.

HARDWOOD SERIES HISTORY:
This will be the 90th meeting between Malone and Ohio Dominican all-time, the third longest tenured opponent in Malone men's basketball history. The Pioneers are 63-26 all-time against the Panthers of ODU. The game at Ohio Dominican scheduled for earlier this season was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols. Last season, Malone swept Ohio Dominican in regular season competition and have won three in a row in the series. The game in Columbus last season resulted in a 73-66 Pioneer victory. The last win for ODU was on December 1, 2018, in Canton, 81-70.

With Kentucky Wesleyan sidelined earlier this week, Malone has taken firm control of the number three seed in the conference standings via the
point rating system. The Pioneers have the ability to accumulate three more points with a win Saturday and will host a quarterfinal game in the G-MAC Tournament if they can remain a four seed or higher.
Malone widened the gap on second place in the league's top offense with their 94-75 win over Lake Erie on Thursday night. The Pioneers average 83.3 points per game and the next closest team is Findlay at 79.4.
Malone has three players looking to finish the season in the G-MAC top 10 individual scoring list.
Bryce Butler is third on the scoring list at 17.8 points per game. He netted a team-best 22 points in Thursday's game.
Bo Myers has cooled off of late, but is still sixth in G-MAC scoring at 16.6 points per game. The sophomore was held to just nine points against Lake Erie, the first time he failed to reach double figures in a game this season.
Marcus Ernst is eighth in the league in scoring at 16.3 points per game and is the G-MAC's top rebounder at 9.5 boards per contest. He has made 132 total field goals, the second most in the conference.

Ohio Dominican is coming off a road loss to Walsh on Thursday 86-75 and have dropped 10 of their last 12 contests. On the road this season, the Panthers are 1-8 on the year. Ohio Dominican is currently eighth in the conference standings, clinging to the final spot in the postseason.
Offensively, the Panthers averages 62.2 points per game as a team, the second-lowest in the G-MAC, and have the worst field goal percentage in the league at 40.2%. Ohio Dominican surrender 71.2 points per game to opponents.
Sean Marks and Alek West scored 22 points apiece to lead the Panthers in the loss to Walsh on Thursday. Marks is the team's leading scorer at 15.2 points per game and West is second, averaging 13.2 points per contest.
Zach Szul scores 13.0 points per game and has started in all 18 games for Ohio Dominican in 2020-21. Mitch Wilkinson and Caleb Strohmeier were the final two starters surrounding Marks, West and Szul in their most recent game.
After missing the middle part of the season, Matt King has come off the bench for the Panthers in the last three games. King shoots 35.1% from three. He and Marks are the two best perimeter threats for Ohio Dominican.
