CANTON -- Tomorrow, the Malone University men's basketball team is set to play their third Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) game in a matter of six days.

Malone is looking for their eighth win in a row this season, and their thirteenth consecutive win overall inside Osborne Hall when they host Walsh on Tuesday.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 126th meeting all-time between these two schools. Although Walsh holds an 80-45 advantage in the all-time series, all three matchups went in favor of the Pioneers last season.

Malone won 76-74 at Walsh on February 6, and followed that up two weeks later with a 71-69 win at home in the 57th Annual Mayors' Cup game on February 23. 

The two teams played a third game last season, this time an opening round matchup in the G-MAC Tournament that the Pioneers won 75-64 at home. 

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT MALONE UNIVERSITY

  • The Pioneers moved to 3-0 in G-MAC play with a 78-66 win over Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon. Levi Seiler led Malone with a game-high 19 points. He was 9-13 from the field, and also pulled down four rebounds and made two steals. 
  • Despite being held under 80 points for the first time all season on Saturday, the Pioneers still enter Tuesday's game leading the G-MAC in scoring at 89.6 points per game. Malone also boasts the top scoring margin in the league at +13.9 points per game. 
  • After a pair of strong outings against both Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan last week, Justin Miller is now Malone's leading scorer at 18.0 points per game. That mark puts him fourth in the G-MAC.
  • The Pioneers have three other players who are top-10 scorers in the league: Bo Myers (17.3 ppg - fifth), Bryce Butler (17.0 ppg - sixth), and Jaret Majestic (14.9 ppg - tenth). 
  • Jaret Majestic and Bo Myers are the top two three-point shooters in the conference. Majestic leads the G-MAC with 30 three-point field goals, and Myers is second with 28.
  • Justin Miller leads the G-MAC with 47 assists this season. 
  • Bo Myers is having a strong start to the season of the defensive end for Malone. He ranks fourth in the conference with 14 steals.  

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT WALSH UNIVERSITY

  • The Cavaliers are riding a four-game winning streak into Tuesday night's game. In their most recent game on Saturday, Walsh topped Trevecca Nazarene 89-83 in double overtime.
  • Walsh also holds G-MAC wins over Lake Erie College and Kentucky Wesleyan College this season
  • Senior guard Darryl Straughter led the Cavaliers with a game-high 28 points in Saturday's win. He enters Tuesday as the team's leading scorer, and ninth in the G-MAC, averaging 15.1 points per game. 
  • Walsh is second in the conference, behind only Malone, with a +9.6 scoring margin this season. 
  • Freshman Garrison Keeslar is second in the conference in rebounding. He averages 8.7 boards per game. 
  • Senior Caleb Canter is second in the league with a 59.4 field goal percentage. He has made 38 of his 64 shot attempts this year.  
  • Walsh, who was picked to finish sixth in the conference in the preseason coaches poll, is under the direction of head coach Jeff Young who is in his eighteenth season leading the Cavaliers. Last year Walsh finished 11-9 overall.

The Pioneers have one more game at home before the Christmas holiday break. Malone will host Emory & Henry College in a non-conference game on Monday, December 20. Tip-off from Osborne Hall is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
