CANTON -- The Malone University men's basketball team continues Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play this weekend with another game inside Osborne Hall.

Malone is looking for their seventh win in a row this season, and their twelfth consecutive win overall inside Osborne Hall when they host Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the twelfth meeting all-time between these two schools. Kentucky Wesleyan, who has won the last six meetings in a row, holds a 9-2 advantage in the overall series.

The last Malone win came in February of 2018, an 86-70 victory inside of Osborne Hall. 

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT MALONE UNIVERSITY

  • The Pioneers moved to 2-0 in G-MAC play with an 80-67 win over Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday night. Justin Miller finished with a game-high 21 points. He also pulled down 7 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. 
  • Bryce Butler recorded his first double-double of the season with 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Butler ranks sixth in the G-MAC in scoring at 17.2 points per game. 
  • Miller's strong outing against the Trojans moved him up to fifth in the league in scoring at 18.3 points per game. He also ranks eighth in field goal percentage (56.6%), fourth in three-point field goal percentage (41.0%), and first in assists (5.3 assists per game). 
  • Bo Myers was held to just five points on Thursday, but he still comes into Saturday's game as the third leading scorer in the conference (19.5 points per game). 
  • The Pioneers still have not been held to under 80 points in a single game this season. Malone continues to pace the conference in scoring as team, coming into Saturday's game averaging 91.0 points per game.

  • The Panthers come into Saturday at 5-4 overall and 1-2 in G-MAC play. KWC lost to Walsh 51-49 on Thursday night. 
  • Junior Ben Sisson is the leading scorer for Kentucky Wesleyan at 16.0 points per game. That mark puts him at eighth in the conference. 
  • Juniors JoMel Boyd (13.2), Jordan Roland (13.2), and senior Wyatt Battaile (12.4) are the other Panther players averaging double-digit point totals this season. 
  • Kentucky Wesleyan, who was picked to finish seventh in the conference in the preseason coaches poll, is under the direction of fourth-year head coach Drew Cooper. Last year the Panthers finished 10-6 overall. 

UP NEXT
The Pioneers will host crosstown rival Walsh University on Tuesday, December 14. Tip-off from Osborne Hall is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
