CANTON, Ohio -- The Malone University men's basketball team will continue their current homestand on Saturday afternoon when the Pioneers host the Mount Aloysius College Mounties, a NCAA Division III member out of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
Malone will look to even up their record at 2-2 after picking up their first win of the season against Wheeling University on Wednesday night.

- The Pioneers opened up the home portion of their 2021-22 schedule in a big way on Wednesday with a 90-72 win over Wheeling University. Malone fell behind early on, but some hot shooting from beyond the three-point line allowed them to carry a 43-41 lead to the halftime locker room. The Pioneers then outscored the Cardinals by sixteen points in the second half to come away with the 90-72 win.
- Bo Myers led all scorers on Wednesday with a game-high 23 points. The junior, who enters play on Saturday second in the G-MAC in scoring at 26.7 points per game, has yet to score less than 23 points in a single game this season.
- Jaret Majestic rarely missed in Wednesday's first half, especially from three-point range. The lefty from Malvern, Ohio made four first-half three-pointers on his way to a season-high 20 points.
- Justin Miller enters Saturday's contest sixth in the G-MAC in scoring with 18.7 points per game. As a team the Pioneers are still the top offense in the league averaging 87.3 points per contest.
- After missing the opening weekend of the season, Bryce Butler was inserted back into the starting lineup on Wednesday. He responded with 19 points on 7-15 shooting from the field.

- The Mounties enter play with a 1-4 record overall this season after a 93-37 loss to North Carolina Wesleyan College on Saturday. The lone win for Mount Aloysius this year came on November 10, a 96-90 overtime win over Dickinson College.
- MAC, who finished just 0-3 last year in a season that was disrupted several times by the COVID-19 pandemic, is led by first-year head coach Marcus Thomas. Most previously Thomas spent two seasons as the head coach at Penn State Fayette.
- Junior forward Carlos Palacio and junior guard Imil Britt were both tabbed as Players to Watch in the AMCC during the preseason.
- So far this year, Palacio is leading MAC in scoring with 20.8 points per game. However, he did not play in the team's most recent game against North Carolina Wesleyan.
- Jason Coronado (12.4) and Dwayne Jones (12.0) are the only other players for the Mounties averaging double-digit point totals this season.
