Zach Mottice is a senior second baseman/outfielder on the Malone University baseball team from Massillon, Ohio and Jackson High School. He is the son of Steve and Lisa Mottice.
In 156 career games in a Pioneer uniform, Zach produced a .295 batting average and 133 hits, including 22 doubles, three triples and two homeruns. He totaled 99 runs scored, 56 RBI, and 41 stolen bases while registering a .950 fielding percentage.
Zach reached base via walk 92 times in his career – 11th most among active players in NCAA Division II and third all-time in G-MAC history. He recorded a .417 career on-base percentage.
In 2017, Zach hit .372 with a .437 OBP and was selected to both the G-MAC All-Conference Second Team and the G-MAC All-Freshman Team.
Zach's favorite memories as a Pioneer student-athlete were all of the van rides with the guys.
Zach is a triple major in Business Administration, Finance, and Philosophy and a three-year member of the G-MAC All-Academic Team. After graduation, he plans to take a gap year and then attend law school.
