2020 Baseball Schedule
The Malone University baseball team released their 2020 schedule for the upcoming season. Last season, the Pioneers won the regular season Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) championship and look to take that success into the conference tournament. Entering back into their days in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), Malone has made an appearance in the conference tournament the last five seasons.
To start the season, the Pioneers travel to Thomasville, North Carolina to play West Liberty and Seton Hill on February 21 and 22. The next weekend, Malone ventures to Mason, Ohio and Prasco Park, home of the G-MAC Tournament, to square off with West Liberty again in a three-game set.
Over spring break week, March 5-9, Malone goes to Rollins College in Winterpark, Florida for the second consecutive season. Some of the highlights of the trip include playing Rollins College on their home field, Eckerd College, who the Pioneers defeated 6-2 in last season's Florida trip, and Assumption College, who Malone went 17 innings with in a win one year ago.
The Pioneers are on the road for their first eight conference games at Hillsdale (March 14-15) and Trevecca Nazarene (March 20-21). The home opener for Malone is against Tiffin on March 27-28, and are at home for three consecutive weekend series versus Walsh on April 3-4, and Ohio Valley on April 10-11.
Three NCAA Division I opponents are on the schedule this season, two games against the University of Akron (March 24 and April 15) and Kent State University (April 29).
The Pioneers face Alderson Broaddus for a four-game series on April 24-25, where the Malone seniors will be recognized.Â
The conference tournament takes place on May 6-9 at Prasco Park.
