CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University baseball team has unveiled their schedule for the 2026 season. The Pioneers are entering year 23 under the helm of Head Coach
Tom Crank. Malone improved one year ago with a final mark of 17-30 on the year.
Â
Just as they did last season, the Pioneers will open 2026 at West Virginia State University for a four-game set on February 20-21. The team will also face West Liberty University on February 27-28 for four games played at a neutral site, Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio.
Â
From there, the Pioneers will travel south to compete in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational from March 5-10. Opponents include Concordia University-St. Paul (March 5 and 10), Point Park University (March 6), Saint Michael's College (March 6), Davis & Elkins College (March 7) and California University of Pennsylvania (March 9).
Â
The first Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) series of the year will come at home against the University of Findlay Oilers on March 14-15. Malone remains at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium for a non-conference affair with West Virginia State before hitting the road for four at Hillsdale College on March 20-21. The Pioneers will compete against Lake Erie College in a non-conference game on March 24 before returning to Michigan on March 27-28 at Northwood University.
Â
A rare mid-week split series with Walsh University on March 1 and March 7 will bookend the Easter holiday. A key series versus Kentucky Wesleyan College will emanate from Canton on April 11-12. A sixth game against West Virginia State will conclude that series on April 14 and make it nine consecutive home contests for Malone.
Â
The Pioneers travel to Cedarville University on April 17-18 and then will take the field at 7 17 Credit Union Park, the home of the Akron RubberDucks, on April 21 versus Clarion University. The final road series in conference play will be at Thomas More University on April 24-25. Ohio Dominican University is the final regular season opponent for Malone on April 30 and May 1. The later date will be the team's senior day.
