Series History:
Malone suffered its first and only defeat against the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots last season in Vienna, West Virginia, 62-56. However, earlier in the 2018-19 season, the Pioneers picked up a 73-61 home victory. All-time, Malone is 4-1 versus Ohio Valley.

Against Alderson Broaddus, the Pioneers are 4-2. All six matchups have taken place in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play over the last three seasons. In 2018-19, Malone swept the Battlers, including a game-winning lay-up from Bryce Butler in Philippi, West Virginia to seal a 65-63 triumph.

Record: 9-7 (3-3 G-MAC)

The Pioneers are looking to bounce back from an away loss last week in Painesville against the Lake Erie Storm. In the game, Jaret Majestic netted a career-best 31 points and scored 18 points in the final nine minutes of play. He hit seven three-point shots (also a career-high) in the game to give him 52 made trey balls this season, good for second in the G-MAC.

Majestic also won Malone Athlete of the Week for the second time in his Pioneer career last week. He became the third player in the last 15 seasons to score 30 or more points in a true road contest (Nate Sheppard and Ty Jordan).

Marcus Ernst chipped in with 19 points and eight total rebounds versus Lake Erie. He went 5-of-6 from the free throw line in last Thursday's game, and the Pioneers have gone to the charity stripe 292 times this season, good for third in the conference. He averages 15.2 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game. He has the most rebounds in the G-MAC at 153.

Point guard Daylan Haynie scored double digit points in his third consecutive game for the second time this season and has scored over 10 in six of the last seven games. After playing 42 minutes in an overtime game between Malone and Kentucky Wesleyan, Haynie was on the court for 39 minutes at Lake Erie. He ranks second in the conference in minutes per game and is the engine to the Pioneer offense.

These three are joined in the starting rotation by Sehill Mouliom and Eli Ramsey. Mouliom has made a start in all 16 games and averages 11.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. In games away from Osborne Hall this season, Ramsey is shooting over 52%, including his career-best 17 point outing against Ohio Dominican in mid-December.

Ohio Valley Team Notes: Schedule | Roster | Statistics
Record: 4-12 (1-6 G-MAC)

Ohio Valley comes into Thursday's matchup fresh off the heels of a convincing 69-51 road victory over Trevecca Nazarene. In the game, the Fighting Scots scored 44 first half points and shot 51% for the game.

Ognjen Vasiljevic led all scorers against Trevecca Nazarene with 22 points, including 17 in the first half and six shots from long range. He sits second in the conference in three-point percentage, shooting 47.1% beyond the arc. Vasiljevic is one of three Fighting Scot players that average over double digit points per game (14.2).

Dylan Harrison and Keon Claiborne make up the other two leading scorers for Ohio Valley. Harrison leads the team at 17.4 points per game and shoots 41% from deep (42-for-102). Claiborne averages 15.7 points per contest and has a team-high 21 steals.

Parker Black, David Adeyemo and Vukasin Garic have all made at least 10 starts for Ohio Valley this season and have been heavy on-floor contributors for the Fighting Scots. Black leads Ohio Valley in rebounds (7.0 per game) and assists (4.3 per game). Adeyemo leads the G-MAC in blocks with 28 this season and gathers 6.8 rebounds per game. Garic has started all 16 games for the Fighting Scots and has shot 47% over the previous three games.

As a team, Ohio Valley holds the second-worst scoring offense in the conference and the worst scoring defense. The Fighting Scots collect the third most rebounds per game in the G-MAC at 38.5 per game, going against a Pioneer squad who is second in the conference in rebounding margin. The battle on the boards might be a critical factor in who comes out of Vienna, West Virginia victorious.

Alderson Broaddus Team Notes: Schedule | Roster | Statistics
Record: 4-11 (3-4 G-MAC)

Alderson Broaddus picked up a pair of victories last weekend over Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene. The Battlers will visit Walsh on Thursday before meeting Malone on Saturday.

The Battlers are a noticeably balanced team on the offensive side of the floor. Four players are within 15 total points of one another at the top of the scoring sheet. Malik Bocook averages 16.3 points per game and shoots 47.4% from the field. Bocook is also the team's top rebounder at 7.9 per contest.

KJ Walker is also a high-level scorer of the basketball, netting 14.1 points per game and is fourth in the G-MAC with 4.3 assists per game.

David Shriver, Bruce Spruell and Troy Cantrell are the other three usual starters for Alderson Broaddus. Shriver shoots 38.1% from three-point land (40-for-105) and leads the team in minutes played. Spruell impacts the game defensively by collecting a team-high 21 steals. Cantrell crashes the glass well, especially on the offensive end, reigning in a Battler best 30 offensive rebounds.
