Biography
2019-20: As a senior, Haynie started in all 30 games as the Pioneer point guard, spending a team-high 1,041 minutes on the floor (34.7 mpg) and playing 40 minutes or more in six games, including the final four games of the season... In total, Haynie recorded 275 points (9.2 ppg), 101 rebounds (3.4 rpg), a team-best 141 assists (4.7 apg), 26 steals and two blocks... Haynie was 97-of-208 from the field (46.6%)... Led the G-MAC in minutes played and was second in the Midwest Region... Ranked fifth in the G-MAC in assists... Scored a season-high 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting and 6-of-9 from the free throw line against Northwood (11/23/19)... Played 42 minutes in an overtime loss to Kentucky Weslyean (1/4/20) while connecting for 13 points on 6-of-8 from the field and dished out eight assists... On Senior Day versus Lake Erie (2/22/20), Haynie distributed a career-high 13 assists and tied the G-MAC season record for most assists in a game and brought down a season-high seven boards in 44 minutes in the 88-86 overtime victory... Haynie hit a career-high four three-point shots at Walsh (2/26/20).
2018-19: Haynie started all 29 games during his junior season, ranking second on the team with 957 minutes played…Totaled 236 points (8.1 ppg), 145 assists (5.0 apg), 89 rebounds (3.1 rpg), a team-high 36 steals, and three blocked shots…Finished sixth in the G-MAC in minutes per game (33.0) and third in assists…Led the Midwest Region and ranked 11th in NCAA DII with a 3.1 assist-to-turnover ratio…Scored in double-digits 12 times and shot 48.2% from the field…Went 7-for-10 from the field, scored a season-high 18 points, and recorded a season-high three steals in a 83-68 win over Clarion (11/27/18)…Played all 40 minutes and handed out a season-high 11 assists in a 78-76 win at West Virginia State (11/24/18)…Pulled down a season-high seven rebounds in the season finale vs. Lake Erie (3/2/19)
2017-18: Started 28 games as a sophomore with the Pioneers, averaging 25.2 minutes per game…Totaled 140 points (5.0 ppg), 58 rebounds, 26 steals, and two blocks…Finished second on the team with 119 assists and second in the G-MAC with 4.3 assists per game…Shot 48.2% from the field…Scored a season-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting in a road win at Kentucky State (11/18/17)…Followed that performance with 12 points and career-high 11 assists and four steals in a home win over Alice Lloyd (11/21/17)
2016-17: As a freshman, Haynie appeared in all 27 games, making seven starts for the Pioneers…Averaged 20.6 minutes per game…Totaled 113 points (4.2 ppg), 43 rebounds, 74 assists, and 28 steals…Posted three double-digit scoring efforts including a season-high 16 points vs. Lake Erie (11/26/16)…Dished out five or more assists in six games including a season-high seven assists at Salem International (2/15/17)…Recorded a season-high three steals on three separate occasions…Named to the G-MAC All-Freshman Team
Prior to Malone: Haynie was named Second Team All-Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) at Westerville South where he helped guide the Wildcats to an OHSAA Division I State Championship in 2016. In addition to basketball, Haynie plans to join the Malone track & field team as a sprinter. An accomplished athlete, he was also an All-District running back in football and a member of the 4x200 relay team that finished sixth at the Ohio State Track Meet. Daylan plans to pursue a degree in Psychology at Malone.
