The Malone University women's soccer team will travel to Philippi, West Virginia on Saturday to face Great Midwest Athletic Conference opponent Alderson Broaddus on Saturday, September 28. The contest will be the second G-MAC match for both teams this season.

Series History:
The history between the Pioneers and the Battlers has been pretty even thus far, with Malone leading the series 2-1-2. Last season, the Pioneers won a home game versus Alderson Broaddus 3-1. Malone outshot Alderson Broaddus 26-9 in the match, and goals were scored by graduated senior

The Pioneers began conference play 0-1 after an overtime loss to conference favorite Walsh. Malone was unbeaten in the non-conference schedule to start 2019. For the second straight week, the Pioneers have had a week in between games.

Malone has flexed its muscles offensively so far in the season. The Pioneers are getting a ton of shots up, most of them being on goal. The team ranks third in the conference in shots per game (16.75) and shots on goal per game (9.25).

Danielle Lung has gotten off to a hot start to the season with three goals in 19 shots.

The Battlers are coming off a 2-1 loss to Walsh, starting 0-1 in their conference schedule as well. The game was the home opener for Alderson Broaddus.

Alderson Broaddus has taken 48 shots, 32 of them on goal. The impressive .667 shot on goal percentage is leading the G-MAC.

Jordan Lessnau has netted four goals on 15 shots, including the only goal in the loss to Walsh. Teammate Iris Jiminez also put four balls in the back of the net. Both are tied for second in the conference with most goals scored individually.

Lisette Virella and Ansley Feltz have anchored the defense this season for the Battlers.
