Last Meeting
Malone swept Ohio Dominican 25-16, 25
-19, 25-23 last season in Columbus.
Malone Notes
- The Pioneers are coming off a 2-1 weekend when they earned four-set road wins over Edinboro and Saint Rose. All five wins this year have gone at least four sets.
- Malone enters the weekend match ranked in the top-20 in NCAA DII in total team kills, assists, and digs.
- Senior libero Sydney Black already has 210 digs through 13 matches this season and ranks seventh in the G-MAC in digs per set (3.96). She is fast approaching 1,000 career digs and could reach the mark by as early as next weekend.
- Offensively, four different Pioneers, Kayla Jarosz, Faith Lau, Hannah Eliason, and Rachel Santos, are averaging at least two kills per set. In addition to leading the team in kills (2.43), Jarosz also leads the squad in attack percentage (.280).
- Senior middle hitter Hannah Eliason leads the team in blocks (40). She registered 17 kills in the win over ODU last fall.
- Setters Elizabeth Selleny (261 assists, 15 aces) and Abbie Swaino (257 assists, 13 aces) have nearly identical production in Malone's two-setter system.
- Faith Lau comes into the weekend with exactly 838 career kills and 838 career digs. On pace to reach 1,000 in both categories before the end of the season, Lau could eventually join Taylor Slauterbeck as the only two Malone athletes in the DII era to achieve the feat.
Ohio Dominican Notes
- The Panthers are one of 13 winless teams remaining in NCAA DII and dating back to last year have lost 17 of their last 18 matches, including 13 in a row.
- Sophomore Amanda Remmetter leads the team in kills per set (2.88). She totaled a team-high 12 in the loss to Malone in 2018.
