The Malone University men's soccer team fell in a road match against Ohio Valley on Thursday afternoon by a score of 3-0. The Fighting Scots scored all three goals in the first half of play.

The win by Ohio Valley gives them a record of 4-2-0 on the season, and they are 2-1-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Pioneers fall to 1-2-2, 0-2-1 in the G-MAC.

Just seven minutes into the contest, Nicolas Rodriguez scored on a penalty kick that he elevated to the top left corner of the net to put the Fighting Scots in front.

Less than 10 minutes later, Ohio Valley extended the lead to 2-0. Carlos Barcia took a corner kick and placed it right in front of the net and Juan Hoyos navigated the ball through traffic and into the nylon.

The Fighting Scots continued to put pressure on Malone, and after a pair of offside calls, they put the game away with a third goal off the foot of David Bercedo in the 27th minute. The goal is his fifth of the year.

Ohio Valley won the shot differential 12-10 and they were very efficient with eight shots on goal. Each team had five saves. Goalkeeper
Alexandre Durand played 90 minutes and made all five for the Pioneers.

Patrick Alvarez took a team-high three shots, all of them on goal.
