The Malone University women's soccer team was defeated by Kentucky Wesleyan College by a score of 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers suffer their second consecutive Great Midwest Athletic Conference road loss and fall to 7-3-0 overall, and 4-3-0 in G-MAC play. Kentucky Wesleyan reaches the .500 mark overall with a record of 6-6-0 and 4-5-0 in the conference.

The Pioneers were put behind the eight ball just three minutes into the match when Natalie Hinchcliffe sent a corner kick into the box and Madallyn Peveler extended her body to redirect the ball into the net and make it 1-0 Panthers.

The Pioneers tried to equalize with shot attempts from
Danielle Lung,
Kirsten Hilty,
Amanda Kinsey and
Sally Culig, but were not able to convert.

At the 20-minute mark, Kentucky Wesleyan widened their lead. Sarah Haleman led Madisyn Hunt with a pass and Hunt sprinted by the Malone defenders and beat the keeper one-on-one with a dribbler towards the bottom left corner of the net.

The Panthers added an insurance goal in the second half as Hunt netted her second score of the contest and her conference-leading 17th goal of the season.

Kentucky Wesleyan's goalkeeper Taylor Rentchler pitched a shutout and made eight saves on 17 Pioneer shots.

Danielle Lung led the team with six shots, three on goal.
