The Malone University volleyball team will put its three-game win streak to the test this weekend in a pair of Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) home matches against Kentucky Wesleyan College on Friday, September 21st and Trevecca Nazarene University on Saturday, September 22nd. The Pioneers enter the week with an 8-6 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the G-MAC. They trail only Lake Erie, by one game, for the G-MAC East Division lead.

Malone Notes 

• The Pioneers are coming off a four-set triumph at Cedarville on Tuesday night, marking the first victory over the Lady Jackets since joining the G-MAC. Malone recorded 12 blocks and a season-high 91 digs in the victory, continuing to grind out matches on the defensive side of the net.
• So far this season, Malone leads the conference in team blocks (2.27 per set) and team digs (19.31 per set) and ranks second in opponents hitting percentage (.144). Those numbers should bode well this weekend against two teams which rank in the bottom-four in G-MAC play in attacking.
• Individually, junior Hannah Eliason leads the league in blocks (1.14/set) while Mallory Adams is fourth. Senior Maggie Hamrock is 3rd in the G-MAC in digs (4.94/set) and leads the team with 14 aces.
• Adams, who has 12 aces, leads the team in kills (3.10/set) and hitting percentage (.317) while senior setter Cathryn Miller leads the team and ranks 6th in the G-MAC in assists (8.29/set).
• Juniors Faith Lau and Sydney Black have played well all season, especially on the defensive end, averaging 2.89 and 2.88 digs per set respectively. Both are scooping up over a dig per set more than their career averages entering the season.
• As a team, Malone ranks 18th in DII in total digs and 13th in digs per set. The Pioneers totaled 86 digs in a five-set win over Trevecca Nazarene before collecting 87 digs in a five-set win over Kentucky Wesleyan in their only matches against the two schools last season.

• The Panthers, who enter the weekend 9-6 overall and 4-3 in the G-MAC, lead the conference in opponents hitting percentage (.143) and are third in digs and third in opponent aces.
• Libero Nicole Venema is fourth in the league in digs (4.90/set), middle hitter Sierra Morrow leads the team in blocks (0.98/set) and hitting percentage (.331), and outside hitter Nilah Roy paces the Panthers in kills per set (2.37).
• KWC is coming off of a 5-set win over Trevecca in their most recent match on Tuesday.

• Freshman outside hitter Madison Martin leads the team in kills (2.43 per set), while sophomore middle hitter Madison Clements ranks 3rd in the G-MAC with a .342 hitting percentage.
