Men's Soccer Battles Alderson Broaddus To The End But Comes Up Short 3-2

The Malone University men's soccer team fell to Alderson Broaddus University at home Thursday morning 3-2. 

The Pioneers and the Battlers went scoreless in the first half.  Both teams broke out offensively in the second half starting with back and forth action until the very end.

Alderson scored in the 54th minute by Colin Pinkerton (2) with assists from Rainiero and Gavin Ferrin.  Malone came back and evened the score 1-1 with Nathan McFeaters' (1) first goal of the season in the 57 minute with an assist by Evan Dekker

Alderson took the lead back with another tally in the 66th minute by Javier Bello (2).  Malone bounced back for the second time to even the score again at 2-2 in the 69th minute on Stephen Radonjich's (1) first career goal and first goal of the season. Dekker picked up his second assist of the match.

The Battlers battled back at the very end with Bello's (3) third goal of the season and his second of the match in the 80th minute.

The Pioneers' record is now 2-6-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the G-MAC.

The Battlers' record is now 3-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the G-MAC.

The match was a cleanly played match with only one yellow card by Alderson.  The Pioneers missed their leading scorer Sam Condon due to injury but they had three emerging offensive weapons in McFeathers and Radonjich with Dekker assisting them both.

Coming up next, Malone University (2-6-0 overall, 2-4-0 G-MAC) will stay at home against Kentucky Wesleyan University (1-6-0 overall, 0-5-0 G-MAC) on Saturday, September 22nd at Canton Central Catholic.
