The Malone University softball team dropped a pair of games to Ohio Dominican University on Monday at the Panther Softball Field in Columbus. The doubleheader was originally scheduled to be played in Canton but was moved due to poor field conditions. The Pioneers fall to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the G-MAC. Malone lost game one by a score of 4-2 and game two by a final tally of 4-0.

Game One Recap
The Pioneers led 2-1 after the first inning. Ohio Dominican picked up a run in the top half of the inning. Madison Corrick answered back with a two-run double in the bottom half to give Malone the lead.
However, Malone was unable to score again in the contest. The Panthers added runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh inning to pick up the 4-2 victory.
Ashley Beck went 2 for 3 in the contest, hitting a pair of singles.
Isabella Roberts took her first loss of the season. Roberts gave up three runs on four hits in five innings. Samantha Fruchey pitched two innings of relief, giving up one run on five hits.

Game Two Recap
The Pioneers got shut out for the first time this season in Monday's second game, falling 4-0.
Malone was only able to muster up three hits in the contest. Two of the three hits were doubles, coming from Ashley Beck and Anna Myers.
Morgan Sampsel took her second loss of the season in the contest. Sampsel gave up four runs on five hits in five innings. Allyson Gruen pitched two scoreless innings of relief, holding the Panthers to two hits

The Pioneers will be back in action on Wednesday at home against Davis & Elkins. Game one is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm.
