Day Three Heat Sheet (Prelims)
The Malone University men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the second day of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference / Mountain East Conference Championships on Thursday.
Following Thursday's results, the Pioneer men are second among eight teams competing. The men's 619 points trails only Findlay. The Pioneer women are currently third among ten teams competing with 443.5 points, trailing Findlay and Hillsdale.
The event will continue on Friday at C.T. Branin Natatorium with the prelims beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the finals starting at 6:00 p.m.
Women's Highlights
The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of
Denise Quentin,
Abby Reynolds,
Kaila Butterworth, and
Nicole Kenny came in second in the event with a time of 1:37.67. The group broke the school record, which they had already held, in the event. The relay team's previous best time was 1:39.39.
Kaila Butterworth finished in third in the 400 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 4:38.05. Butterworth's time, which is second all-time at Malone, beat her personal best by nearly fifteen seconds.
Kaylor Schuttinger finished the event in 4:57.26, moving her up to fifth all-time at Malone.
Denise Quentin finished sixth in the 100 Yard Butterfly, beating her personal best time with her 58.75 finish on Thursday.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Reynolds placed sixth in 1:56.88. In addition,
Claire Bergefurd moved into eighth place all-time at Malone in the event with her time of 2:06.11.
The team of

Jessica Slater,
Quincy Livchak, and
Carolin Friedrich finished fourth in the 400 Yard Medley Relay. Their time of 4:10.46 moves them to seventh all-time at Malone.
Men's Highlights
Dominic Mariano won first place in the 1 meter dive with a score of 430.60.
The team of
Markus Brunzel,
Cobie Mikesell,
Austin Weingart, and
Justyn Morgan placed fourth in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. The team's time of 1:27.18 moved them into the Pioneers' top-ten list, edging their way in by 0.02 seconds.
Nick Wertz finished fourth in the 400 Yard Individual Medley. His time of 4:14.01 moves him up to third all-time at Malone.
Wesley Hammond's time of 4:19.96 moved him up to sixth all-time at Malone.
Rhett Sanford took eighth in the final. His prelim time of 4:20.56 moves him up to seventh at Malone.
Austin Weingart improved his personal best time to 52.93 in the 100 Yard Butterfly.
Cobie Mikesell moved into ninth on Malone's top-ten list with his time of 52.94 in the event.
Brice Dixon finished fourth in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:42.51. Dixon's time moves him to third on Malone's all-time list in the event. Brunzel also secured a podium spot with an eighth-place finish.
