The Malone University women's soccer team traveled to Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening and won 1-0 in an out-of-conference contest.
Both teams carry the same "Pioneers" nickname. MU tallied their first and game-winning goal midway through the second half. It was
Danielle Lung landing her second goal of the season with assist help from
Carolina Nakata and
Kassidy Hannum. Lung's score was all MU needed to come out on top.
Goalkeepers
McKenzie Chappell (in 15 minutes) and
Jessica Morgan (in 75 minutes) combined to help MU register its third shutout of the season. Morgan, an up-and-coming freshman, secured five saves in the match
MU goes to 3-8-2 overall with the victory while PPU falls to 8-6-0
Overall MU held a 16-13 edge in total shots and 11-5 advantage in shots-on-goal
