The Malone University men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in a double-dual with Ashland University and Urbana University on Friday evening at Ashland.
The Pioneer men defeated Urbana 170-8 and fell to Ashland 126-74. On the women's side, Malone topped the Blue Knights 172-28 and was edged by Ashland 127-98.Â
Women's Highlights
Kaila Butterworth finished first in the 200 Yard Individual Medley. She improved her personal best time by over a second with her 2:19.39 finish.
Kaitlyn Hoch won the 1 meter dive with a score of 174.08.
Denise Quentin won the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:00.78, moving her to fourth all-time at Malone.
Abby Reynolds won the 100 Yard Freestyle in a time of 54.70. Kaila Butterworth finished in fourth in the event, and also moved to fourth all-time at Malone in the event with her time of 57.05.
Carolin Friedrich and Kaylor Schuttinger finished first and second in the 200 Yard Backstroke. Friedrich moved to third all-time at Malone with her time of 2:21.50. Schuttinger finished in a time of 2:27.53.
The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Denise Quentin, Kaila Butterworth, Carolin Friedrich, and Abby Reynolds came in second place in their event. They moved to fourth all-time at Malone in the event.

Men's Highlights
Wesley Hammond improved his personal best time in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with his 17:20.96 finish on Friday. His time was fourth in the event. Nick Wertz finished just a half of a second behind Hammond in 17:21.24. His time moves him to seventh on Malone's all-time list. Erik Melekh moved into ninth place all-time at Malone with his time of 18:57.81.
Rhett Sanford improved his personal best time in the 200 Yard Butterfly to a 2:03.04. Sanford finished third at Friday's event.
Nick Wertz placed third in the 200 Yard Backstroke and moved into ninth all-time at Malone with his time of 2:08.83.
Malone had the top three finishers in the 200 Yard Breaststroke. Bradley Bowers finished first in 2:31.71. Garrett Young finished second in 2:38.91. Collin Schmidt finished third in 2:41.36.
