The Malone University women's soccer team fell to Kentucky Wesleyan by a score of 4-3 in overtime on Thursday afternoon at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. The Pioneer loss is their first conference loss of the season, and gives them an overall record of 2-2-2 (0-1-2 in the G-MAC).

The contest was all Kentucky Wesleyan, and more specifically Madisyn Hunt, to start. Hunt had two goals in the first twenty minutes of play to take an early 2-0 lead.

The Pioneers would answer back with a goal of their own with just under ten minutes remaining in the half to cut the deficit to 2-1. Marissa DiMichele scored the goal, which was assisted by Kaela Kovanda.

Malone tied things up twelve minutes into the second half. Kaela Kovanda crossed the ball to Megan Fuller who then made a short pass to Amanda Kinsey for the goal.

Less than five minutes later, the Pioneers would score a third straight goal to take a 3-2 advantage. Just moments after checking into the game for the first time, Alex Carcano scored the go-ahead goal off of a long pass from Keeley Malley.

Kentucky Wesleyan answered back in the 70th minute of play to tie the score up at three goals apiece. Kamryn Pulliam scored the tying goal off of a deflected shot attempt by Madisyn Hunt. The score would remain tied 3-3 through the end of regulation. Pulliam answered the bell once more with a game-winning goal six minutes into overtime. Hunt assisted on the goal. Hunt scored or assisted on all four of the Panthers' goals.

The Pioneer women will look to bounce back on Saturday when they take on Trevecca Nazarene at the Hall of Fame Legacy Sports Complex. The game is set to begin at 1:00pm.
