The Malone University men's soccer team fell on the road to Ashland University in its season opener by a score of 3-0 on Thursday evening.

Andrew Pearson scored the first goal of the game seven minutes into the first half for Ashland for the 1-0 lead. Pearson's goal was the lone goal of the first half.

Ashland extended their lead early in the second half on a goal by Justin Libertowski. With less than a minute remaining in the second half, Thomas Ardon scored one more goal to give Ashland the 3-0 victory over the Pioneers.

Cody Hilty had five saves while allowing three goals.. Sam Condon had two shots on goal for the Pioneers but was unable to find the back of the net. 

The Pioneers will be back in action on September 6th when they host their home opener against Walsh University.
