Results

The Malone University swimming and diving teams swept Notre Dame College in their road meet on Saturday. The women's team won 102-47, while the men won 100-80.  

Coach Hunt's Thoughts

 "This has been an intensive stretch of training and competition. This is a tired group, but a resilient group. I feel confident that we are well positioned heading into the mid-season championship environment at Wooster and next week in Canton."  

Men's Highlights

The 200 Yard Medley Relay team consisting of Markus Brunzel, Noah Curl, Brice Dixon, and Cobie Mikesell won the race in a time of 1:44.74.  

Nick Wertz was able to win the 1650 Yard Freestyle in 17:25.83. Wesley Hammond finished the race in 17:54.88 to move him into the 7th on Malone's top ten list in the event.

 Hammond also moves into ninth place in the 400 Yard Individual Medley after finishing in 4:42.23.  

Rhett Sanford won the 100 Yard Butterfly in a time of 56.49. Sanford would go on to win the 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:10.31.

 Brad Bowers won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in a time of 1:05.64.  

The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Brice Dixon, Matthew Mazey, Erik Melekh, and Cobie Mikesell won their race in 1:34.56.

 
Women's Highlights  

Carolin Friedrich won the 1650 Yard Freestyle in 18:59.67. Claire Bergefurd finished the race in 20:34.75, improving her personal record by nearly five seconds and staying in the ninth spot on Malone's top ten list.

Denise Quentin won the 50 Yard Freestyle in a time of 25.85. Quentin's time is third best all-time at Malone. Quentin would also go on to win the 500 Yard Freestyle in a time of 5:32.81. Her race today moves her to fourth on Malone's top ten list.  

Kaila Butterworth touched the wall first in the 400 Yard Individual Medley. Her time of 5:07.30 is ninth on Malone's top ten list.

Abby Reynolds finished with the fastest time in the 100 Yard Butterfly. Her time of 1:05.82 is ninth best at Malone. Reynolds also moved into ninth in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:38.21 today.

Brittany Sheets was the first swimmer to finish the 100 Yard Backstroke. Sheets finished the race in 1:11.18.  

Jessica Slater won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in a time of 1:16.03.

The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team consisting of Denise Quentin, Quincy Livchak, Carolin Friedrich, and Kaila Butterworth was the first team to finish the race. They finished in 1:47.15.
