The Malone University women's soccer team ended their contest against Ohio Dominican in a 1-1 tie on Thursday evening after two overtime periods. Tonight's contest was Malone's third tie of the season, and the fifth time this season the team has gone into overtime.
Ohio Dominican showed to be the aggressor on the offensive end, taking 25 shots in the contest compared to 11 by Malone. Ohio Dominican took eight shots on goal, but
McKenzie Chappell was able to save eight of those shots, allowing just one goal in 110 minutes of play.
The first goal of the game did not come until the 69
th minute of play. Samantha Buck scored the goal off an assist from Alli Pavlik to take a 1-0 lead.
Ten minutes later, the Pioneers answered back with a goal of their own by
Melissa Soltisz. Soltisz' game-tying goal was her first goal of the season.
Each team was held scoreless throughout the rest of the contest, ending the game in a double-overtime tie.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Saturday at Findlay.Â
