Results
The Malone University swimming & diving teams competed in their first road meet of the season on Saturday as the men's and women's squads travelled to Buckhannon, West Virginia for a dual contest against West Virginia Wesleyan College.
The Bobcat men topped the Pioneers 143-62 while the West Virginia Wesleyan women edged Malone by a 123-82 margin.
Although the Pioneers came up short on the scoreboard, Malone's freshmen class continued to impress, earning numerous spots on the program's Top 10 all-time performers list.

In the 200-yard freestyle,
Denise Quentin took over the No. 5 spot on the Pioneers' Top 10 list after clocking a winning time of 2:01.48. The freshman also grabbed the No. 4 spot on Malone's all-time performers list in the 100-yard backstroke, placing second in 1:04.69.
Freshman
Abby Reynolds also left her mark on the Pioneer Top 10 list on Saturday afternoon, taking over the No. 2 spot all-time in the 50-yard freestyle event with a winning time of 25.02. Reynolds also won the 100-yard freestyle and her time of 54.54 ranks second-best in program history.
Freshman
Kaila Butterworth touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.32. The performance moves Butterworth to No. 6 all-time at Malone in the event. Butterworth also grabbed Top 10 spots with her second-place performances in both the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly. Her times of 2:21.85 in the 200 IM and 1:06.40 in the 100 Fly each rank as the seventh-best on Malone's list in each event.
Freshman
Stephanie Sprague secured the No. 6 spot on the Pioneers' all-time list in the 100-yard backstroke after placing fourth in 1:06.26.
Junior
Alex Dutton took third in the 100-yard breaststroke. Her time of 1:15.27 moves her to seventh on the Malone Top 10 list.
Junior
Kaylor Schuttinger took fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle after clocking a career-best time of 11:55.72.
In addition, the Pioneers' 400-yard freestyle relay team of Reynolds, Quentin,
Quincy Livchak and
Nicole Kenny placed second in 3:49.42, the ninth best 400-free relay performance in program history.
Men's Recap
Freshman
Brice Dixon won the 100-yard freestyle in 49.66. He also finished runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.48.
Freshman
Wesley Hammond was second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:09.67.
Sophomore
Nick Wertz claimed second-place finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Wertz notched a mark of 10:26.11 in the 1000 free and a time of 57.09 in the 100 Fly.
Sophomore
Markus Brunzel was second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:09.19.
Sophomore
Noah Curl also posted a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 1:05.79.

Malone will be back in action at home on Friday as they welcome fellow Great Midwest Athletic Conference member Davis & Elkins College to C.T. Branin Natatorium for a 7:00 p.m. dual meet.
