Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Shut Out by Alderson Broaddus

The Malone University women's soccer team lost to Alderson Broaddus University on Thursday afternoon by a score of 3-0. The team falls to 4-8-3 (2-7-3 in the G-MAC) on the season.  
 
The Battlers held a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Kennedy Rankin scored in the 16th minute and Lauren Small scored in the 24th minute of play to give ABU the early advantage. Malone was unable to attempt a shot on goal in the first half.
 
Alderson Broaddus would tack on one more insurance goal in the second half. Torrey Tompkins scored in the 74th minute to give the Battlers a 3-0 victory. Malone was able to take two shots on goal in the second half, but was unable to score.
 
Alderson Broaddus took just five shots on goal in the contest, but they were able to capitalize on three of those five shots.
 
The Pioneers will be back in action on Saturday for their final home game of the season. Malone will take on Davis & Elkins College at St. Thomas Aquinas High School at 3:30 pm. Their final regular season game will be played next Tuesday at Walsh University.
