The Malone University women's soccer team fell to Walsh on Tuesday night by a score of 3-0.
Walsh outshot Malone by a narrow margin of 14-11. Tonight was Walsh's ninth shutout victory on the season.
The Cavaliers got out to an early 1-0 lead just thirty seconds into the contest when Olivia Peters scored a goal off of an assist by Erica Hafer. Peters would strike again for her 11
th goal of the season just four minutes later to give Walsh an early 2-0 lead.
Both offenses would go quiet for the remainder of the first half, giving Walsh the 2-0 lead at halftime. The Cavaliers scored one more goal five minutes into the second half. The Walsh goal was scored by Sydney Santaguida, who had assisted the Cavaliers' second goal of the contest.
Danielle Lung led the team with four shots in the contest, two of which were on goal.
Kirsten Hilty had two shots on goal in the contest as well.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Thursday when they will take on Alderson Broaddus at home. The Pioneers will need to win on Thursday to keep their post-season hopes alive.
